Vitex, also known as Chaste Berry and Abraham's balm, is native to the Mediterranean and derived from a shrub also called a chaste tree, Monk’s Pepper, or lilac chaste tree. Each individual fruit is about the size of a peppercorn. It gets its name from the fact that during the Middle Ages, it was used to decrease male libido.

Suggested Uses: 

Vitex is most commonly used to treat health problems. This is most commonly used in tea blends, syrups, infusions, tinctures, and sprinkled over food for a peppery taste. Since ancient times in Greece, vitex has been used to treat women's ailments such as PMS, infertility, and menopause symptoms. In Turkish herbal medicine, vitex is used as an antifungal and to help with digestive problems and anxiety.
