4oz Kiwi Berries Grown in New Zealand
Kiwi berries, or baby kiwi, are small berries about the size and shape of a grape with a very thin hairless edible skin that is more vibrant green than a traditional kiwi fruit. Very similar in taste to a kiwi fruit, baby kiwis can be substituted for regular kiwi fruit, minus the peeling of the skin. Baby kiwis are in season in the fall. Baby kiwis have vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber, and other micronutrients.
Ripening and Storage:
Kiwi berries are quite delicate since the skin is very thin and doesn't offer much protection to the inside flesh. When ripe, they yield slightly to the touch and the skin is a vibrant green and slightly wrinkled. Keep them in the fridge for up to a week for best results.
Since the skin is so thin, the entire kiwi berry can be eaten whole.
Kiwi berries can be enjoyed fresh as-is, or used just like a regular kiwi fruit: added to fresh fruit salads, savory dishes, baked goods, paired with a cheese plate, and more.
