Jackfruit is the largest tree-borne fruit in the world! Jackfruit is huge and oblong in shape with green prickly skin on the outside. It is a relative of breadfruit, mulberry, and fig trees.  The flavor of jackfruit has hints of pineapple and mango. This fruit is loaded with antioxidants, fiber and Vitamins A, C, E and K


Ripening and Storage:

Jackfruit will ripen on the counter at room temperature. Once ripe, it should yield slightly to pressure. Ripened jackfruit can be cut and stored in plastic in the refrigerator for about 1 week or in the freezer for up to 1 month. 

Suggested Uses:

Can be eaten raw, baked into desserts or used as a meat substitute in savory dishes such as tacos.
